Local partnerships

I collaborate with students and community members to create community-based writing projects. These projects include personal narrative books, an interview series with Durham, NC community activists, program assessments, summer reading projects, and community storytelling.

Public school partnerships include collaborations with teachers, principals, media center directors, university students and faculty to design and implement projects such as Writing Studios, community writing retreats, and NC women story collections. I also lead writing and multimedia storytelling workshops for teachers and students.

State-wide partnerships

I partner with North Carolina Campus Engagement to offer state-wide writing retreats for community-engaged scholars.
